Mike was involved in an automobile accident (he was a passenger) on Oct 7, 2006. He is still recovering. Some xrays of his arm before and after surgery are included here. The first one shows the compound fracture and the bone that was totally outside of his arm. The "Halo" that he still has on that was attached during a January surgery. I have included some pictures of the Halo when he still had the wrappings on his arm. Hopefully this will come off at the end of April.
After the first surgery they put a plate in to fix his elbow in position.
These items were removed when the Halo was attached. He also had a metal bracket on the forearm and to hold the bones in place on his Humurous (which failed to hold and is why the Halo had to be added to the arm for healing purposes.
The following picture was taken soon after he returned home in January. Sort of makes you ache, doesn't it. We're hoping that he can start physical therapy in May to regain as much motion and rotation of his wrist since it has been fixed in place for close to three months.
